Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • I have a 2 solar panel naures pulse system, but I want to add more for a continous use of refrigerator and inverter air conditioners (3). What do I need? Was expensive, almost $1900.0 for what I have.

Hi Wilma, Thank you for your query. You can just add additional power pods to your system if you wish to run a fridge. However, for ACs, there is a special system for these that will run a single 6000 BTU AC for approximately 16 hours on a single charge. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to send us an email at support@naturesgenerator.com

  • I have a 6kw system on my house, I want to redirect the solar to 4 batteries and the inverter, do I need to connect a rwgulater between the solar and battery units to reduce the 6 kw to 300w each?

Hi Jason, Thank you for your query. We would like to know more about your system, for us to assist you better. Kindly send us an email including which Nature's Generator system you have and how many solar panels or pods. If in any case that you're using a Non-Nature's Generator system, we also would like to suggest reaching out directly to the transfer switch manufacturer Reliance controls. Kindly reach us directly via support@naturesgenerator.com, We'll be more than happy to assist you!

  • Can two of the four circuits be used double pole for 30 amp? Also, could this be used off grid and be treated as the main breaker panel for a few outlets assuming the ratings are not exceeded?

Hi Greg, thank you for your query. Unfortunately, Nature's Generator Power transfer kit is a 15 AMP transfer switch. If you have further queries, you may message us directly via support@naturesgenerator.com.

  • can a transfer box be used as a main breaker box in a small cabin?

    Hello Mark,

    Thanks for your inquiry.

I appreciate your time reaching us. Yes, as long as it will be just 15a. You can connect it!

  • I currently have a power transfer switch installed for my gas generator. The input is four pronged. Can I connect the nature's generator elite to that transfer switch if I have an adapter and do you sell one?

    Hello Neil,

    Thanks for your inquiry.

Unfortunately, we do not sell adapters.
If you can find a connector that will allow you to connect the Elite generator to your transfer kit, there should not be an issue.

Should you have any concerns, please email us at support@naturesgenerator.com

  • My electrician said I need a 20 amp box to work with my existing gernator system, is this 20 amp? Thank you

    Hello-

Thanks for reaching out to us!

Our current Power Transfer Switch is a 15amp system and ont a 20amp.  The reason we went with the 15amp transfer switch is because our current Nature's Generator is a 15amp system.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

    Thanks,
    Nature's Generator Support Team

  • Am I correct that with the power transfer switch I could easily switch to use solar power to grid power and back on 4 circuits? also the power transfer switch would be mounted 2 feet away on the inside of the house connected to the panel 2 linear feet away on the outside.

    Hello-

Thanks for reaching out to us!

You are correct!  The Power Transfer switch would be wired to 4 circuits or your home breaker box to power those particular circuits.  You are able to change from Line (grid power) to Generator (Solar) at any time.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

    Thanks,

  • I don't have an indoor electric panel and I'm thinking about drilling a hole next to my panel and mounting the power transfer switch on the inside wall where the generator will be stored. Does that sound ok?

    Hello-

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Yes, as long as the Power Transfer Switch is inside and not subject to the outside elements it will work just fine.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

    Thanks,
    Nature's Generator Support Team

  • Is there a larger size power transfer switch>? Does this go on the main panel outside or the subpanel inside?

    Hello-

Thanks for reaching out to us.

There are larger transfer switches out there, but this is the one we feel works best for our system.  We are a reseller for Reliance Control and they have other transfer switches on their website.

This transfer switch is an indoor unit, so it is not recommended to be connected outdoors and does need be connected to the main breaker switch.

    Thank you,
    Nature's Generator Support Team

  • How many circuits can it be hooked up to?

    Hello Shaun-

Thanks for reaching out to us!

The Power Transfer Kit has a four circuit breaker, so it will allow you to connect to four circuits.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

    Thanks,
    Nature's Generator Support Team

  • Is the Nature’s Generator Power Transfer Kit restricted to only a Nature’s Generator power Supply or can it also be used by an interim gas generator while the Nature’s Generator is being recharged by solar panels?

    Hello Doug-

Thank you for reaching out to us and for your interest in our product.

The Power Transfer Kit does not need to be used with our Nature's Generator, it can be used with a gas generator as well.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

    Thank you,
    Nature's Generator Support Team

  • Hello, is the Power Transfer Kit suitable for outdoor installation? Is there a cover available for the female outlet? Thanks! Frank

    Hello Frank-

Thank you for reaching out to us and for your interest in our product!

The Power Transfer Kit that we offer is for indoor use only and not outdoor.  We unfotunately do not sell any covers for this particular system.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

    Thank you,
    Nature's Generator Support Team

  • Do you sell extension cables for the power pods, to allow for more configurations?

    Hello-

Thank you for your interest in our product.

We unfortunately do not sell extention cables for our Power Pods.  The Power Pods come with a built in cable that allows you to daisy chain them to the generator via the expansion port, but that is the longest cable provided.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

    Thank you,
    Nature's Generator Support Team

  • Can the nature generator be used on-grid as backup power in case of a power outage? I live in the mountains where we often loose power due to high winds/blizards. Can the solar panels be mounted permanently on a roof?

Nature's Generator is designed to be the perfect backup power during power outage. You don't have to use the stand kit that is provided in the box. You may mount the solar panel permanently on the roof. Thanks

  • Where can I find individual breakers for your 120/240 12 circuit transfer switch?

  • What type of breakers can be used in the transfer switch? From the customer photos it looks like you ship with HOM breakers but much harder to tell from your photos. I would need to replace the breakers with AFCI / combo AFCI/GFCI capable breakers to avoid tripping these breaker types in the main panel.

    Hi Greg,

Thank you for reaching out! The Nature's Generator Power Transfer Switch Kit is not compatible to be used with GFCI or AFCI breakers. You can use a standard circuit breaker and we do have a list of compatible brand of breakers. You can use Siemens or Square D breakers. If you have any follow-up questions, you may reach our support directly via (800) 975-7909, or email us at support@naturesgenerator.com. We'll be more than happy to assist you!

  • Can this be used with a floating neutral generator? Or is a bonded neutral to ground generator required? I checked the manual and it did not specify.

    Hi J,

Thank you for reaching out! You can use the transfer switch with a floating Neutral generator as long as the generator is within the specifications of the transfer switch. If you have any follow-up questions, you may reach our support directly via (800) 975-7909, or email us at support@naturesgenerator.com. We'll be more than happy to assist you!

  • Can I change out the 15 amp breaker for a 20 amp? All of my breakers into the house are 20 amp.

    Hi Phil,

Thank you for reaching out. Yes, you can change the breakers of the Nature's Generator Power Transfer Switch for a 20 amp since all circuit breaker positions can accommodate 15- or 20-amp circuit breakers. If you have any follow-up questions, you may reach our support directly via (800) 975-7909, or email us at support@naturesgenerator.com. We'll be more than happy to assist you!

  • Why do the instructions say: "Do not charge Nature's Generator by wall through AC input port when using Power Transfer Kit." I would like to use the Power Transfer Kit with a Power Supply charging both with solar and AC (but not on a circuit covered by the power transfer kit). This way I can cover some circuits off grid via the Power Supply during peak times and switch them easily back to grid when I want. Is this possible or is there some electrical or backfeed issue with this setup?

    Hi John,

Thank you for reaching out. We put that instruction in the manual for our customers to be aware of and to avoid the generator from getting damaged. However, you can charge your generator through AC input if you plug it into a wall outlet that's not covered by the Power Transfer Kit. If you have any follow-up questions, you may reach our support directly via (800) 975-7909, or email us at support@naturesgenerator.com. We'll be more than happy to assist you!

  • Is this transfer switch UL approved?

    Hi Bob,

Thank you for reaching out. Our Nature's Generator Power transfer kits went through UL 1008 testing with Intertek and passed the testing and we're currently in the final step of processing all our requirements to get ETL listed too. If you have any follow-up questions, you may reach our support directly via (800) 975-7909, or email us at support@naturesgenerator.com. We'll be more than happy to assist you!
