Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • I live in New Hampshire. What am I to expect with the wind turbine when the temperatures get below 32 degrees? I have your natures generator with 2 pods and 6 solar panels. I wanted to have a wind turbine but it doesn't look good. Could you send me some answers. Thanks,Frank.

Hi Frank, thank you for your query. The turbine will produce power as long as there is a constant wind speed of 27 mph. If you have any follow-up questions, you may reach our support directly via (800) 203-7516, chat, and or email us at support@naturesgenerator.com
We'll be more than happy to assist you!

  • Can you use a wind turbine from another company (Missouri Wind and Solar) with the Nature's Generator system)?

Hi David, Thank you for your query. Unfortunately, the one we sell is the only suggested, compatible wind turbine for the generator. If you have any additional queries, please let us know via support@naturesgenerator.com

  • I have the elite system with the wind turbine. Can i hook up the wind turbine AND the solar panels all at the same time? I think i read that they cannot run together, in which case i wasted money on the wind turbine.

Hi Richard, Thank you for your query. On contrary, you can actually charge simultaneously via AC/wind/Solar without harming the generator. If you have further questions, you may reach us via support@naturesgenerator.com

  • Does the generator elite need to be off from switchs for the wind turbine to charge and the solar panels as well because see on this display it goes off and on even when my turbine spins

Hi Eddie, Thank you for your reaching out. Yes, it needs to be off so that it won't draw a charge when you're not using the generator and when it is not in a charging state. For a better understanding of the display, could you please send us a video showing the on and off of the front panel display? please send it to support@naturesgenerator.com.
Should you have any concerns or questions, please email us at support@naturesgenerator.com

  • Is it ok if the turbine runs if it is not connected to the generator unit? That is, will any damage occur to the turbine if the current isn’t going “anywhere?”

    Hello-

There is no problem if the wind turbine is spinning when not connected to the generator.  The controller box that connects to the generator will not allow current if it is not connected to the generator.

    Thanks,
    Nature's Generator Support Team

  • Will you be introducing a smaller or more portable wind turbine in the future? Or sell an adaptor for other brands of wind turbine to plug into Nature’s generators?

    Hello-

Thanks for reaching out to us.

At this moment there are no plans for a smaller turbine.  Other brand may work as long as it has the same pin configuration as our cable.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

  • Hello, Is it possible to mount the turbine horizontally?

    Hello Sam-

Thanks for reaching out to us.

If mounted horizontally, the weight of the turbine body would not sty horizontal and make it tough for the turbine to grab any wind.  We recommend that you have our wind turbine be mounted vertically.

  • When mounting the Turbine do you recommend the 1.5 inch schedule 40 pipe to be STEELE OR PVC?

    Hello:

Thank you for contacting Nature's Generator!

We would highly recommend steel as it may be more likely for the PVC to flex easier than the steel.  Please let us know if you have any other qeustions.

    Thanks,

    Support Team @ Nature's Generator

  • It doesn't look like the wind turbine comes with a pole; are there instructions, or recommendations for how to mount and secure it? Are there additional kits for this procedure?

    Hello Lee-

Thank you for reaching out to us!

There are instructions on the manual that provides the type of pole that is recommended, please see below.

    How to choose the tower
Your Nature’s Generator is designed to mount on nominal 1.5 inch schedule 40 steel tubing or piping.
The outside diameter of the tubing or piping shall be around 1.875 inch to 1.900 inch. The steel
tubing or piping should be available through your local hardware store. Under no circumstances
should plastic pipe be used to construct a tower. Towers must be capable of withstanding 160
pounds of load in the horizontal direction at the wind turbine.

Additionally, please see the manual on the link provided below.

  • Hello, does the turbine generate AC or DC power through the 100 ft cable?

    Hello-

The wind turbine will produce AC current from the turbine to the controller box, at which point the controller box will convert the AC to DC and send it to the generator.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

    Thank you,
    Nature's Generator Support Team

  • Does the turbine adjust to wind direction automatically or does it have to be adjusted manually?

    Hello-

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Our wind turbine does adjust to the wind direction on their own, it does not need to be done manually.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

    Thank you,
    Nature's Generator Support Team

  • What happens when over the max wind speed is reached? For example 120 MPH winds.

When wind speeds meet or exceed 110mph, the built-in controller box will stop recharging the Nature's Generator.

  • What is the minimum wind speed for it to kick in and how many watts will it make at that minimum speed?

Wind speeds should be a minimum of 10mph in a single, constant direction for the Wind Turbine to start generating a charge to the Nature's Generator. At 10mph wind speeds, the Wind Turbine will generate between an estimated 5W - 12W per hour - in essence, faster wind speeds should help generate a faster recharge time.

  • What diameter pole can this be mounted on? What is the diameter of the blades for clearance of objects around it? I do not see any wires in the picture.Does it come with a wired connector or does this need to be purchased separately?

Our wind turbine is designed to mount on a nominal 1.5 inch schedule 40 steel tubing or piping.  The outside diameter of the tubbing or piping should be around 1.875in. to 1.900in.  Under no circumstances should a plastic pipe be used to construct the tower.  The tower must be capable of withstanding 160 pounds of load in the horizontal direction at the wind turbine. The rotar diameter is 51in - each blade has a red tip for safety precautions. The Wind Turbine comes with everything needed to successfully connect it to the Nature's Generator - the only thing you will need to source separately is the tower you'll need to raise the Wind Turbine.

  • What wind speed does it need to generate power? Does it self adjust in direction of wind?

Wind speed should be a minimum of 10mph in a single direction for the Wind Turbine to start generating a charge to the Nature's Generator. Constantly changing wind directions will cause inefficient charge capabilities.

  • I’m considering this type of generator for our camper and my question is can I mount the wind turbine on my camper and generate power as we drive or will highway speeds be too fast ? if so then I can’t use this system. Thanks for taking time to answer my question

Hello, we would not recommend mounting the Nature's Generator Wind Turbine on your camper for use while driving due to safety reasons. In addition, the Nature's Generator Wind Turbine needs stable wind speeds in one direction - If the speed and direction of wind is constantly changing, the Nature's Generator Wind Turbine will not continuously recharge the Nature's Generator.

  • Is 400 watts of power enough to operate the generator without any solar help?

Hello, we recommend that the Nature's Generator Wind Turbine always be paired with at least one Nature's Generator Power Panel. Keep in mind that the Nature's Generator Wind Turbine must be exposed to continuous winds in the same direction at a constant rate to continuously generate power to the Nature's Generator.
