If I have one Power Pod connected to the Nature's Generator and I connect the battery charger/ maintainer to the Generator, will it charge and maintain both Pod and Generator?

If I am only using this generator when the power goes out do I keep it hooked to the solar panel or wind turbine constantly or should I use the generator periodically or what is the best way to maintain the generator while not using it? do I keep the wind turbine on all the time or is there a way to keep it spinning without it producing electricity, or will it wear itself out eventually? Hi, Gary. Thank you for the query, it is best to leave the Generator in a state wherein, the solar panels and the wind turbine are connected. This way, the battery will be at its peak performance until the time that you'll use it again. No need to worry about overcharging, for a built-in charge controller will avoid this from happening. Can you charge the unit from wall socket and still power up the same house.

is there a way to add power to the generator by hooking up one or more 12V batteries to the system? If so what connectors would i need?

Hi Wanda, thank you for your query. What you can do is purchase a Nature's Generator power pod, in order to further expand your battery capacity. You can Daisy-chain an unlimited number of pods, and these include a built-in expansion cable, therefore there's no need to purchase additional items to do this. OK, why is the battery charger/maintainer faster to recharge the Natures Generator than just plugging the same generator unit directly into the house current with the supplied power cord?

Thank you for your query.

Actually Nature's Generator battery charger / Maintainer was made solely to keep the battery maintained or charged when you're not going to use the Generator for a long period of time. The wall charger cord that originally comes with it is still faster to charge than the battery maintainer. We do not recommend using the battery maintainer accessory to charge the generator for everyday use.

What's the need or difference between having the Natures generator plugged directly into shore (home) power or this battery charger/maintainer?

The main difference between those two was the battery recharge time it would be a lot faster to charge it onshore the battery charger.

I Previously purchased 2 systems; a Gold and a Gold WE. Can I use this to charge from a pod or generator to a pod or generator in case of very low power levels?

You can use the Power Pod and connect it to a Nature's Generator and will assist with battery capacity when the generator battery is low, but you would not be able to connect generator to generator.

A battery maintainer is essentially a battery charger that's designed to supply your battery with a small amount of electricity for long periods of inactivity, to assist in recharging.  You can use it to recharge the Power Pod or Nature's Generator via the 12V DC input. Or you can use the clamps to connect to any other battery to recharge, does not need to be specifically used for our product.

I have the generator and two pods. If I plug this into one of the pods in the daisy chain will it also maintain and charge the the Generator?

If you connect a Power Pod to the Nature's Generator it will provide additional run time, it will not unfortunately charge the generator battery.

How does this charge the battery? What power source must be used?

Hello:

The battery maintainer is more designed to work with our power pod if you are unable for any reason to connect to the generator. 

You would input the 12v male end of the battery maintainer and input that into the female DC port on the power pod and then connect that to a wall outlet to charge/maintain.
