QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • 1. Can the solar panel and wind turbine both be plugged in at the same time? 2. Will the generator charge with a 2oo watt, 24 volt solar panel?

    Hi Rick,

    Please see the responses below.

    1. Yes, the Solar panel and the Wind turbine can be plugged in or used both at the same time, Doing this will charge the Generator faster.
    2. The Standard Generator can support up to 200 watts of Solar power whereas the Elite can support up to 300 watts Solar power output.

  • When I purchased my Natures Generator, Power Pod and two 100W panels from Home Depot. Each solar panel had the MC-4 connector (square box) mounted on the back (as shown in your item picture on the website) and they both had a pair of cables (just less than 3') long with connectors. There was an additional set of cables (exactly like the 3' cable but longer) about 5'. Which after getting all set up. I found that it was to allow the panels to have some distance between each other for independent directional adjustment towards the sun. Not using that 5' cable made it impossible to aim panels at the sun together and not be constantly hindering the other panel. Now in another message to you, I mentioned about another companies solar generator which I bought some years ago and the power inverter burned up. And at their prices for parts replacement and NO warrantee for the new inverter, I'm not sinking any money in that unit. But their solar panel setup is almost exactly the same as yours, except for the two single power cables on the back of each panels. Their two cables are only 2' in length, as yours is 3' in length and they had no additional 5' set of cables for the panels to be erected/spaced apart as they had an additional electrical box for their proprietary cable connections. So if I install the splitters at the end of that 2' length. Both panels will always be in each other way as I try to aim them both in parallel towards the sun. So I ordered your power cable so as to be able to connect those two 100W panels from the other company to the Natures Generator and or to one of the "Pods". My issue is that this other company had only installed one set of cables on the back of their panel just under 2' in length. Installing the splitters at that point will be next to impossible for those panels to both be pointed at the sun together. Unlike your set-up of two sets of cable 3' & one set of 5' cables so the panels can stand apart. Now after removing their installed electrical box and 50' cable from the rear of their panel. I need an extension set of cables for each panel (4 single cables with mc-4 connectors or if the cables are cased then two sets of cased cables with MC-4 connectors and the cable 5' long) Then when the splitters are installed on one panel at the end of the existing 2' long cable. The 5' cable can then be installed on the other panel allowing it to be erected away from the first panel just like your set-up. I can see that you don't have any of these extension cables posted on your web site. Can you get them or manufacture them on site? It's seems such a waste to have to buy a complete set of 100w panels for powering the generator when just replacing some cables on this other companies equipment will allow them to be used. Can you help?

    Hi Dan,

    Thank you for your query.

Our Nature's Generator is designed for optimum performance with our 100 watt Nature's Generator Power Panels we sell. The other manufacturer's solar panel may or may not work, depending on the solar panel output voltage and current. If you already have the solar panel on hand and want to use it with your Nature's Generator, we recommend that you contact us for verification/confirmation.

Kindly send us an email with the photos of your preferred setup attached and send it to support@naturesgenerator.com so that, we can advise if this is possible and what is needed for it to work.

Should you have further concerns please let us know and we would be more than happy to help. Just email support@naturesgenerator.com

    Thank you.

  • How long do I need to leave a new panel in the sun for it to get fully charged?

    Hello-

When you connect a solar panel to our Nature's Generator the battery bars will start moving up and down, when it the battery is full the battery bars will stay solid and stop moving.

  • What are the storage heat/humidity requirements and operating temperatures for the power panel. Can I store them safely outside in South Florida when not in use.

    Hello-

Thank you fo reaching out to us!

Our solar panels are weather proof and designed to withstand strong heat, so there will be no problem having them outside in South Florida weather.

  • Can I connect three panels with my generator? If so, do I need to buy any accessories? Thanks

    Hello-

What Nature's Generator do you have?

If you have our current one you would not be able to, that only has a 200W charge controller.  If you have our Elite system, then that one you would as it has a 300W charge controller.

    Thanks,

  • When you quote the "solar panels are within 17 to 22 volts" is that Max. Operating Voltage or Open Circuit Voltage?

    Hello-

Thanks for reaching out to us!

That would be the maximum Open Circuit Voltage.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

    Thanks,

  • Do I have to use your panel with your solar generator?

    Hello-

No, you do not need to use one of our panels, but you will need to make sure the panel you are planning to use has a voltage rating between 17V to 22V.  Additionally, you will also need one of our 50ft solar panel cables in order to connect the solar panel to our Nature's Generator.
