QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Can the Nature's Generator and Power Pod be used independent; example, one to run a refrigerator and one to run a different appliance?

    Hello Ron-

Thanks for reaching out to us and for your interest in our product!

You would be able to use the Nature's Generator and Power Pod seperately, but due to the Power Pod not having an inverter, you would need to use a DC to AC inverter.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

    Thank you,
    Nature's Generator Support Team

  • Regarding the question below referring to the 3 - 100 watt solar panels - So for clarification 2 of the solar panels are connected to Nature's Generator and 1 to the Power Pod. Is this correct?

    Hello-

Correct, two of the solar panels are connect to either the Nature's Generator or the Power Pod via the MC4 branch connector and 50ft solar panel cable.  The third solar panel will be connected to either the Nature's Generator or Power Pod (which ever one does not have the two panels) with the additional 50ft solar panel cable.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

  • What is the length of the generator's AC power cable and what type of connecting plug. Is it the standard 3-prong plulg?

    Hello-

Thank you for reaching out to us.

The lenght of the AC Power Cable the Nature's Generator comes with is 4ft long.  It is actually a 2 prong plug and not 3.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

  • Can you mount solar panels on top of transit van

    Hello-

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Yes, we have had customer mount the solar panels on their vehicles.  We do not offer mounting brackets, as those would need to be purchased elsewhere.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

    Thanks,

  • Can this system or any system you sell be used to re-charge a Tesla or any other electric vehicle currently on the market?

    Hello-

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Unfortunately, we do not have a system that would be able to recharge any electric vehicle.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

  • The Platinum system has three hundred watt panels so that gives you 300 watts your charge regulator is rated at 200 Watts so how do you connect the three I have yet to see a wiring diagram that shows how you daisy chain three can you please send me that info a drawing diagrams Etc

Both Nature's Generator and Power Pod have solar inputs. Each solar input port can handle 200 watts of solar panels respectively. Thanks.

  • Can this be wired directly to a breaker box for an off-grid set-up and, if so, what gauge wire should be used?

    Hello-

Unvortunately you would not be able to wire it directly to a breaker box.  The only option would be to purchase one of our Power Transfer Kits, this will allow you to tie the power transfer kit to the breaker box.  Once it is wired together, you would connect the Nature's Generator to the Power Transfer Kit and at that point it will allow you to power the items you have connected to those specific circuits.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

  • The plugs on the front of the Earth's Generator / Anderson Power connector for the solar (input) connector and for the wind (input) power are both different! Why is this?

    Hello-

Thank you for reaching out to us.

The reason the cables are configuered differently is due to the charge controller for each item.  The charge controller for the Wind Turbine and the charge controller for the Solar Panels have a different configuration.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

  • Regarding the 5 lights on the power pod: it would have been very helpful if the instruction booklet would have mentioned that. Or, that the system indicates the charge level from left to right so that it is understandable. Maybe include an extra note in the pod booklet instructions.

    Hello-

We apologize for any confusion the light placements could have caused.  We will provide this information to the team in hopes that they can add instructions on how to read the lights on future instruction manuals.

We appriciate the feedback and it will be concidered.

  • On the Natures Power Pod there is a button to press to visually see the charge level. I received my pod on (Mon about 4pm) Here it is (Wed) and more than 24 hours later. I press the button to check the battery status. The three led lights on the (r) are all steady green. The next light is steady (Yellow) and the last led light closest to the Led Light button is (Red). Now common sense tells me (ALL) 5 led lights should be (Green) if the battery is fully charged. Please explain what the led lights that are (Yellow & Red) indicate? Is there some fault here?

Thanks for contacting Nature’s Generator!   All five of the lights will never turn green. Each green represents 60% charge, 80% charge and 100% charge.  When the three green lights go away and there is only the red and yellow light left illuminated, that means there is only 40% charge left.  When only the red light is illuminated, there is only 20% charge left.  When all three green lights illuminate, that means the unit is fully charged and ready for use.  When you have either a combination of yellow and red lights, or red only, this is the indication that it is time to recharge the unit.

  • Can the lead acid be swapped out for lithium?

Unfornately not. Lithium battery is more delicate than lead acid battery and requires additonal controlling circuits to manage the lihium battery. Thanks

  • How do I change fueses?

The fueses for expasion port are the same type of the fuses used in the car that can be puchased in auto stores. The fuses for DC port and inverter are auto resettable.

  • Can you connect 200w of solar panels to the Pod + 200w of solar panels to the Generator? I notice this kit comes with (3) 100w panels... so I'm assuming (2) panels plug into the Generator & (1) panel plugs into the Pod? Is that correct?

Ye, you can connect 200watt of solar panels to the power pod and connect 200 watt of solar panels to the generator.  Power Pod has 100Ah battery and Generator has 60Ah battery. So the system is designed to have 2 of 100watt solar panel for the power pod and 1 of 100watt solar panel for the generator to maintain proper charging speed, but obvisouly 4 of 100watt solar panel can charge the system even faster. Thank you for the interest in Nature's Generator.

  • how the paralell conection of the 2 solar panels to the natures generetor is made

We include MC4 branch conenctors in Platinum System to connect 2 solar panels in parrallel. Thank you for the interest in Nature's Generator.

  • Can I connect two generators to one power pod

No. you cannot. You can connect one Nature's Generator to two Power Pods at the same time, but you cannot connect two Nature's Generators to one Power Pod at the same time.  Thanks

  • How many Solar panels can you connect to each other?

Either Nature's Generator or Power Pod can accept 2 of 100 watt solar panels. The solar panels need to be connected in parrallel way (keep the same voltage, but double the current). Thank you for interest in Nature's Generator.

  • Will this unit run a block heater for a diesel truck. 2 to 3 hours daily

Hi - Thank you for being interested in Nature's Generator. In order to provide you more accurate answer, please provide the model number and maker of the block heater to support@naturesgenerator.com or call 805.383.0003. Nature's Generator team will further assist you with your requirement. Thank you.

  • A normal fridge requires 2000 W for start up and about 700 W to run. 1.Can a Nature's Generator of 1800 W capacity run a fridge ? 2. How many hours can it run the fridge? 3. What other equipments or devices can be run simultaneously with the fridge? ( all those questions assume that the NG is not been recharged by solar during the use.

In theory, if the fridge that you have requires 2000W to start then the Nature's Generator will not be able to start the fridge becuase it is over the 1800W peak output. We haven't seen a case yet where a fridge wasn't able to start up when using the Nature's Generator but that is not to say it isn't possible.

On average, the Nature's Generator Platinum System will provide between 12 and 20 hours of run time for a standard fridge on a single charge assuming the fridge requires about 600W for temp maintenance. Keep in mind that a fridge will only work to keep its internal temp at the desired level when the doors of the fridge are opened and closed. The more often the doors are opened, the more often it will need to kick on to bring the temp down. All of this plays into the amount of run time you will get.

You can use additional items with the system but keep in mind that connecting additional items to the system will reduce the run time because of the additional draw.

  • I live in the Lancaster, CA. We're at about 3,000 Ft elevation up here in the High Desert. In the summer, we get very intense amounts of sunlight. Think of the Mojave Desert (Las Vegas). I can probably collect more sunlight here than any of your other customers anywhere else. I've calculated the amount of wattage I would probably need for the amount of time I would be using this application on a daily basis. I was thinking maybe someone could answer some technical questions for me because I am truly interested in the product. It most be most efficient for me to be able to charge this during the day, Which should be no issue, and then use it after it charges to insure the life of the battery. I know you can charge the unit and use it at the same time, but I really want to avoid that as much as possible. I would need this to run overnight for about 12 hrs until the sun starts charging the unit again. On a full charge, could it consume 700 watts for that 12 hr period? If you could field test that, maybe even overkill it just to be sure I guarantee you I will be buying this set up (Nature's Generator 1800W Solar & Wind Powered Generator - PLATINUM System) Next spring. I have the specs for the different applications and it all calculates to about 650 watts continuous, but If you can give me the data for 700 watts continuous or higher just be sure( How long you can run it at 700 watts on a full charge), you got yourself a customer. It will be doing this cycle everyday for about 4 months - 6 months out of the year (When we get our sunniest days of the year), maybe even longer because the hot seasons seem to coming a little later but coming harder and lasting longer these last few years. 2nd question, My plan B was to keep it charged, keep the panels connected, and have the 700 watts running during the day at the same time its charging. Would this be harmful on the unit? The actual power station would kept in a room temperature atmosphere out of the sun. please if you have someone that could contact me I would really appreciate it. Thank you

Hello - based on our calculations, the Platinum System would not be big enough to provide the run time you are looking for. The Platinum System alone would only provide about 2 hours of run time if you're looking to draw 700W continuously. To get to the 12 hour run time desired, you would have to add more components. So not only would you need a Platinum System, you would need to get an additional 4-5 Nature's Generator Power Pods and an additional 9-11 Power Panels. Based on our estimation, adding these additional components would provide the desired 12 hour run time with a 700W continuous draw. The Nature's Generator Systems are also capable of taking a charge while being used without harmful effects. Please feel free to ask us any further questions.
